Description: Welcome to Death City!


The city was in good shape today, despite the recent attack to it and the unfortunate earthquake a month back. The damages to the city had been repaired best as they could, and everything else was covered in a healthy heap of decor for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

Things were a bit somber, as was expected after so many of the residents lost their loved ones. Fortunately, if there was something Death City was good at, it was getting back on its feet after a fall.

[Souji was standing in line for his turn, a hand casually perched on his hip. If he was supposed to fight, either as Meister or Weapon, it's better if he knew right away. So he watches everyone else getting their souls checked ahead of him as he waits. The procedure, the environment around him- it seems so strange, it had to be a dream. And if not a dream, then the other world? That was what he thought at the beginning of the tour. But further and further along, as the scenery refused to become familiar and fade away, the facts became more real. This was no dream- and it wasn't the other side. Death City. That's really where he'd been taken.

Yosuke and Nanako were here though. Even though they had parted ways back home, they were here too. He had to protect them. If fighting was what it would take to go home, then he was fine with it.

Suddenly it was his turn to get checked out. Souji steps up.]

[Prepared to take the next person in line, Neji greets Souji with a curt nod- absent and perfunctory in nature as he takes in the young man's body language before overall appearance registers as something familiar. A pause, like he's not sure whether or not to say anything, and dismisses the notion after a few moments.

He had enough people already on edge from just arriving to deal with, and his own nerves haven't been faring particularly well after one particular encounter. He doesn't need to complicate things by addressing a relative stranger by his name]

If you will just step behind this machine, I'll be able to determine the nature of your soul.

[Souji nods back, moving behind the strange x-ray machine without so much a word. Without his composure lessening any, although he did wonder. Was that all he had to do?]

[The soul crops up on screen as Souji moves, and Neji takes a few moments to look it over. It's a surprising likeliness and he takes it in with a grain of amusement. But the alignment change is surprising, even if he'd only known Souji was a Meister because of the ability he had before]

A Weapon, huh? [The label had no effect on Souji's memory.] Do you know what kind of weapon I am?

Unfortunately, no one will be able to tell you. It's something you'll discover once you start attempting to transform. [And that's unhelpful, he realizes]

The most common weapon type seems to be the form of a sword, and others have transformed into weapons they use in their own world. Further than that however, I don't know.
