Intro Log!

Description: Welcome to Death City!


The city was in good shape today, despite the recent attack to it and the unfortunate earthquake a month back. The damages to the city had been repaired best as they could, and everything else was covered in a healthy heap of decor for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

Things were a bit somber, as was expected after so many of the residents lost their loved ones. Fortunately, if there was something Death City was good at, it was getting back on its feet after a fall.

Now that he had decided being here was a very, very good thing, the smile on Sai's face had decided not to leave. So have someone cheerfully waving his raised hand, just in case no one can see it.

Of course, it was possible that using the X-ray machine would be faster, but who would willingly give up the chance to come into contact with someone that could do something he'd never seen?

Seeing the hand, Kid walks over to him.

"I can help you."

He simply smiles, without even bothering to thank Kid. He puts his hand down though, and clasps his hands behind his back, "Well?"

There was a slight arch of the brow. Usually people asked how the process worked, but he supposed this made things easier. After a few moments of activating his Soul Perception and studying the man's soul, he finally answered, "You are a meister."

He liked observing more than asking. He had found that people gave away more than they noticed.

Although it just looked like Kid had closed his eyes. Sai stares for a moment longer after learning that he was a Meister, "That's it?"

Because if that was it this was boring.

"That's it," Kid simply answered.

Soul Perception was not really a flashy type of ability, but that was one of the advantages. No one would know who was able to use or when it was being used. This was even more so for Kid, as he could already sense the presence of souls and notice particular ones without even concentrating.

"Hm...Can you do it one more time?"


He refuses to believe that was it, especially when his curiosity hadn't been satisfied at all.

He arched a brow but nodded.

"All right."

And he then closes his eyes. Again, nothing visible appears from outside although everything changed within Kid's mental space. One, two, three...and he had reopened his eyes again to face Sai. "...Were you trying to observe something?"

Still nothing. Maybe it was time to change the approach?

"What if you were running? Can you still use it when you're running?"

And he isn't answering Kid's question because he's much more interested in figuring out Soul Perception. And answering questions when asked isn't something he's very good at doing most of the time.

"Yes, it's possible, though it's better if I can concentrate," he answered, still wondering about his questions.

[i_am_not_eleven]

"So if I flicked you in the forehead while you were using it, I wonder what would happen?"

He taps his chin with a finger as he says this, talking to himself more than to Kid.

"Want to try?"

And now he's smiling. Which is never a good sign when it's Sai.

Kid just gave him a look. He was not going to grace that little thought with an answer. But he would answer the one directed to him.

"No, I don't."

Sai moves closer, almost as if he's determined to try. (He isn't really that determined, especially not after having his offer rejected once.)

"But isn't it better to try now where nothing can possibly hurt you?"

[perfectorder]

"No it isn't," he said, still frowning. And if Sai did try, he would be quick to move out of the way.

"As much as I'd like to answer your questions, there are quite a number of guests here. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Spoilsport."

Sai looks noticeably disappointed that he didn't get to flick Kid in the forehead. He was just curious... (Although if Kid had let him, Sai's requests would only get worse and worse, so it's probably for the better that he had denied him.)

"No. I'll find you later then."

[perfectorder]

He had a mental sigh as he nodded. Though he was not sure what to make of the last remark.

"Enjoy the rest of your day."

And with that he turned to assist the next person.

"I would have enjoyed it more if you just let me flick you in the forehead once."

But Sai leaves it at that and walks off with a shrug, keeping the guy with the strange hair in mind as a possible source of amusement for a later date.
