Summary: Neji hosts a surprise party for his little cousin.


[It's an inconspicuous setup, tables tucked behind the walls, a collection of balloons tied low and plain white napkins covering decorative plates and the like. The biggest giveaway is probably the foot traffic, but Neji makes the most trips, laden with sweets then a stack of pizzas, and he takes a different approach every time, eyes watching for any trace of his cousin or her escort. He's even stationed a casual lookout on a bench outside to keep watch for any sign of her, because ninjas are thorough and paranoid creatures about everything.

And everyone that knows them knows that it's hard to keep anything from a Hyuuga for long. That they've managed with relative success for a week so far is a blessing, and Neji has faith in Chika to be as discreet as possible, to give them all time to set up. That it's not actually on her birthday and the mission took everyone's attention yesterday may actually work in their favor, however much last-minute rescheduling it took]


[OOC: The party was delayed for the mission on the 27th, so I'm just handwaving that Neji sent memos to everyone that showed interest in attending during his post]

General mingling with the birthday girl

[After an energetic game of basketball, Hanabi is sitting down and sipping some punch (thankfully non-spiked) to cool off and rehydrate herself.

There are some faces that won't be here because BREW sent them away. Hinata's, Lain's and Naruto's are amongst the most recent absences, but there's a list of people she misses.

Still, this party has been a nice distraction from all of that and a chance to unwind. Maybe she'll find a temporary partner to work with for an upcoming mission and see how that goes. In the meantime, she's about as happy as she can be. It was kind of her cousin to put this together, and provided BREW doesn't send either of them home beforehand, she'll have to return the favor on July 3rd.]

[Surprise! Obito appears and takes a quick pic of Hanabi sipping her punch. He's a little late (as usual) but show he did, and with camera in tow to lock all their memories into pictures. It is unfortunate he didn't have many of Hinata to give to the remaining Hyuugas, or of Lain and Naruto, but... at least he can make up with pictures of everyone else.]

[She smiles a little. This is a nice break from her situation here, and from upcoming missions. She opted not to go for the one on her birthday because she'd already promised herself a day off, and hadn't felt ready to seek out even a temporary Weapon partner yet.]

[It's nice to see her smile. After Hinata disappeared... He's just glad she isn't stuck just dwelling on her missing sister.]

Mixed fruit...and you can taste that it was made with real fruit.

[Which is important for Hanabi, drink wise. She dislikes 'fruit drink' beverages and much prefers things to have some actual fruit in them if she's going to drink it.]
